Welcome to the 2019 Nordic lead climbing Championship in Malmö, Sweden, 9th – 10th November 2019. Seniors, juniors and youths will be competing on the same day where qualifications are on Saturday and all finals on Sunday. Prepare yourself for two days packed with high level climbing!

The competition is organised by the Swedish Climbing Federation and Malmö Klätterklubb with support from Klättercentret Malmö, Skånes Klätterklubb, Gecko Klätterklubb.

National membership of IFSC is not required to participate in the Nordic Championships. If an athlete not from a nordic country reaches the final, the final will be extended with one nordic athlete.

Bus to the competition venue
From Malmö Centralstation take Bus nr 8 (go 6 stops) and exit at Malmö Hålsjögatan, walk 800m.
Alternative: Take Bus nr 3 (go 15 stops) and exit at Malmö Stadion, walk 700m.

Competition info

Competiton format
The competition follows the rules of IFSC according to the different classes
Youth A & B: European Youth Cup rules
Juniors & Seniors: IFSC World Cup rules (without semi final)

Qualification: Flash, 2 routes, 6 min per route, randomized startlist, route demonstration by video.
Final: On-sight, 1 route, 6 min, reverse qualification order. 10 finalists for Youth A & B, 8 for Seniors.

Route demonstration
The demonstration will be avaliable as a video link with a climber who climbs the route, this information is sent to the coaches who then distributes this to the climbers who can watch on mobile devices or computers.

4 Junior classes
Youth B – Boys & Girls (born 2004-2005)
Youth A – Boys & Girls (born 2002-2003)
*Junior – Boys & Girls (born 2000-2001) is included in the Senior class. Se explenation below.
2 Senior classes
Senior – Men & Woman (born 2001 or earlier)
*Juniors will climb as Seniors, but after the competition there will be a set of medals to the 3 best climbers, male & female in the Juniors age group.

Saturday 9th of november at 19.00 at Good Morning+ Malmö, there will be a banquet for all climbers, team officials and accompanying people.

Buffet with a variety of food such as salad, pasta, meat, bread etc. will be served. Water and cordial is included, other bevereges is not.
